Wherre is a good place to go morel mushroom hunting in northern illinois?

good luck. i have yet to see a moral mushroom in ANY part of Illinois, much less the northern part. They are lying, hyprocritical, adulterous little thieves. If you want moral mushrooms, you need to go furthor west, where mushrooms are actually raised right and treat others with decency and respect.Wherre is a good place to go morel mushroom hunting in northern illinois?
There are a lot of discussion boards online where morel mushroom hunters report their finds. Keep in mind, however, that a morel hunter will only give you a general idea of where to look, detailed information is always kept a secret.Wherre is a good place to go morel mushroom hunting in northern illinois?
Morels will grow in about any temperate climate. Best advice I can give you is go hunting in a tree grove right after a good rain. They seem to congregate mostly around elms and apple trees.
i picked 5 lbs in lasalle county 5/6/07. loamy soil and dead elms are good signs. also depressions and waterways.

i also picked 2 lbs in northern will county, in Naperville 5/7. most were found on the western slope of hills running to the dupage river.
