Dear New Ghost Hunter

You actually have a fine set of equipment to start out with. One inexpensive addition is a compass, as electrical fields can go haywire and cause the needle not to show true north in a presence. Our group, in its protocals on investigating, has a very comprehensive list of both what equipment you should take and the methods you should use in an investigation.

Also, a book you would probably want to add to your Christmas want list is ';Strange Frequencies: A Practical Guide to Paranormal Technology'; by Craig Telesha ISBN 9781892523570 which goes into detail on a lot of the different equipment, how they work and how they are used. It definitely goes into how digital flashes can cause false positives in regards to orbs. Finally, a notepad and pen and pencil are essential. Mark Nesbitt has an excellent example of an investigative sheet to fill out in the back of his book on how to ghost hunt the Gettysburg battlefield. What Ghost Hunting Equipment do I need?
Excellent answers above. May I add that the flashlight should be a red LED-type to protect night vision. They are small, lightweight, cost under $20 and are available at telescope retailers. The light is bright enough to keep from bumping into things, but shouldn't mar the infra-red camera views. Happy hunting
The only equipment you absolutely need is right inside your head. Logic, reason, and experience are the tools a good ghost hunter uses.

The rest of the equipment is all optional. No there are not any more doo-dads or nicknacks that you need to buy to aid you. Make sure you know how to use this equipment quite well. Use logic and build experience and keep a skeptical mindset.
You have enough equipment., although a ouija would be a good addition Good ghost hunters are not made by good equipment.

They need to be unafraid and analytical. A scardy cat will find ghosts anywhere and ruin the investigation.

The most important thing is get permission and be safe.
salt to see footsteps and such and also a thermal Camera but these can be expensive.....and a torch lol
and... BIG GUN!!!
