What air rifle would you recommend for hunting ?

i want an air rifle that has power and accuracy, which rifle would you recommend for hunting ?

i need power to kill with a chest shot or blow its head off type of power !

over 1000 fps What air rifle would you recommend for hunting ?
RWS Model 34 in .177 if you want 1,000 fps. However, for hunting, you would be better off by far with a .22 air rifle that shot 800 fps. RWS has plenty. Gamo is another good brand.

You want one that has a single pump break-action barrel. Don't waste your money on a Crossman or Beeman that requires multiple pumps. Although, Beeman now has break barrel 1 pump guns that are nice, too. What air rifle would you recommend for hunting ?
IMO, the two best value air rifles that have the power and accuracy to hunt small game along with being very well made and durable, are the Benjamin 397 and the .177 caliber RWS 34.

Later: I guess if you want to spend $500 + for a powerful PCP you might as well get a really powerful one.

64.6fpe with 32gr pellets, and those are real world(test result) numbers not a ';claim'; of %26gt;up to%26lt; some absurd fps # using ultra light weight pellets

If you wanted to go all out, you could get a .22 caliber Daystate Air Ranger(80.0fpe) this rifle is capable of 3 shot 1in groups at 100 yards. I have seen 50 shot groups, yes that would be 50 not 5, fired with this rifle at 40 yards that you could cover the whole(50 shot) group with a dime. A rifle like this will set you back over $2000 though.

Plenty of power, but a little overkill for small game :))

Unless you just want to vaporize the little suckers**

**Sarcasm - just in case you don't recognize it.

I use a daisy powerline 880 to shoot squirrell with, i really dont consider it hunting
a gammo,,, but just get a 22 and get it over with,,,scope it and practice ok tu eddie
Why an airgun? If your serious about varmint hunting, get a .17 HMR rifle or even a .22 lr. Both are much better than an airgun and both have dirt cheap ammo.

Otherwise google...oops Yahoo search for hunting air rifles.
I am not even going to get started kid. Get a real gun, a rifle or shotgun. The only thing an airgun is good enough to kill with all reality birds, squirrels (sometimes) and maybe even a rabbit. If your looking for any real good hunting your gonna have to get a nice rifle, you can start with a .22 they aren't real expensive, they don't kick, and they aren't that loud.
without going in to specific models, it all depends on what you plan to hunt with it. if your hunting squirrels, most any 177 pellet rifle that achieves 800 or better will do. if you plan on hunting anything larger, rabbits for instance, then get a 22 cal capable of at least 600 fps.

i personally would recommend the 22 cal pellet for all hunting, but the 177 is fine for squirrels. any of the major manufactures will do. they all make good equipment. rws, gamo, walther, crosman and daisy all make 22 cal pellet rifles capable of taking small game.

i have a sheriden blue streak in .5 mm (20 cal) that will shoot over 700 fps and is a real tack driver at 50 ft or less, and i have a gamo in 22 that pushes pellets over 850 fps. either will easily dispatch a rabbit.
