I want to start hunting?

but i am a 14 year old girl. i live in bellingham, WA. please dont tell me its wrong because i dont care. i want to eat them and shoot them and have like moose heads and bearskin rugs. no, i am not a freak. so how do i start hunting? lol.I want to start hunting?
The first thing is that you need to decide WHAT you will be hunting for.

That will help determine the type of gun you need. If all you want to shoot is small game - then a 22 would be fine.

Then, once you know what you want to hunt for and you have your weapon - practice shooting - ALOT. There is nothing worse than wounding an animal because of a poor shot.

Make friends with other hunters and don't kill anyone associated with PETA.I want to start hunting?
The first thing that I would do would be to locate someone you know that is a hunter. Sit down and discuss hunting with them and see if it would be possible to go along on a hunt with them (with parent's permission of course). Having a mentor is the best way to learn how to hunt because if you don't learn the basics first, your hunts in the future will be marginal at best.

I believe they just changed the age for allowing youth to hunt in the state of WA, but I am not sure what it was changed to, so looking up your local DNR (Department of Natural Resources) office on the internet should give you some good information also. Good luck to you and I hope you enjoy your time spent hunting as much as I enjoy mine.
Now if you want to hunt than good for you. So you need to firstly go up to (or call) a local outdoors store and in some cases gun stores (more likely to find a outdoors stores though) and ask how much they charge for the hunting certification class. You HAVE to take that class before you go hunting. Now for me it was every other day, I started on monday and ended on friday so i had 3 classes. Then you take a test on the last day over what they thought you i think you have to score higher than a B. After that your good then you figure out what you want to hunt and with want to hunt and what are you going to use to hunt it (certain guns/weapons cannot not be used to hunt certain animals like i DON'T think you want to go hunt a deer with an M16A2 but you get the point). Once you have figured that out then go back up to the store and buy the proper tag for what you want to hunt/ just tell them the animal you want to hunt and they will get you the proper tag. Now if you don't have an adult (who must be certified too) to hunt with then more gun/outdoors stores have youth hunts and if you don't know that is when some workers will take a large group out to hunt.

And remember that you can only hunt an animal in the select season and to hunt when the animal is not in season is not legal also they have season that are just for bows and to hunt with anything else is not legal. Now i think in order to hunt bear you have to enter a drawling because there are too few animals to let more than a select portion of poeple to hunt, but on the other hand there are enough animals to hunt but only a few can be hunted. Now as far as moose goes i don't know how that works.

Hope this helped
First I have to say that I am surprised you have not had any PETA people saying its wrong yet.

Ok take a hunters safety course. They will give you a card if you pass letting you to get your license. Then get you license. Apply for a permit for what you want to hunt. Practice with you guns and start off with small game or deer like white-tail or mule deer. Turkey are good for practice too. I can not use a rifle where I live so I use a shotgun. I use a 12 gauge that is farly heavy. That ruduces the kick. Test whatever you get and make sure its not too strong for you. Start of small or at least fairly small and work up to the big big game. Good luck.
first and foremost you need to develop some good shooting habits. In order to develop good shooting habits you need to start off small or else you will develop a flinch, due to recoil (kick) expectations. Once you feel the kick, it will be buried in your subconscious every time you get ready to squeeze the trigger. This is why it is important to work your way up from low caliber rifles to a rifle you feel comfortable with that is capable of taking the big game animals you will eventually hunt. A good way of doing this is by target shhoting, and alot of it. There are shooting clubs that are kid friendly that sponsor competition shooting. Ask your parents to see about getting you involved. Ammunition for 22 rifles is really cheap and 22 rifles can be bought fairly inexpensive as well. Most shooting competitions utilize bolt action rifles, so you should consider investigating the requirements first. Below is a list for some ballistic charts at gunsandammo.com . . . the importance of this site is that the different calibers of cartridges are listed according to the power they possess, The 22LR that I recommend is a rimfire cartridge.

Next, I suggest you read as much as possible. Start by studying the rules and regulations that the state of

Washington has for hunting. %26gt;%26gt;%26gt; http://wdfw.wa.gov/

Your also going to need to take a hunters safety course to even obtain a hunting license. A list of times and places, and other assiciated details and costs should be provided at the WDF website.

Other than that just start reading all the hunting and shooting articles you can find, watching the hunting shows on TV can be informative, studying the animals on paper and in the field that you want to consider hunting is helpful, and most important keep on asking questions . . . search online for ';washington hunting forums, '; and you'll be able to pick up on the tricks and local hunting grounds used by people in your home state . . . likewise they'll have opinions that are better formed and detailed to the area you live in.
lol its not wrong to hunt. those people are the freaks. the rifles youll need to bring down moose and bears may be a bit big for you. i suggest getting a youth rifle. they are for children. also start hunting smaller game and work your way up. now you will need to go to your parks%26amp;wildlife department to get the regulations. i know here in Texas there are many many new laws that i do not understand. so please get the regulations and be safe with rifles. be sure of your surrounding and be positive of your target. it is a very good idea to take a hunter's safety course. good luck and good hunting
hunting is one of the most natural of all behaviors. humans are predators by nature, so hunting to eat is just a fulfillment of what you were created as...

secondly, check out the IHEA website http://www.ihea.com/

this is the international hunters education association.l they can hook you up with courses and requirements for your state.

go to a local archery shop (in WA you'll have MANY more opportunities to hunt if you learn to hunt archery) and have them help you get set up. you want a bow that's light enough for you to handle today, but that can work up to at least 50 lbs. 65% let off if you want to trophy hunt, 80% if you really could care less about putting an animal 'in the book)
Well the first thing is ask your parents if they are tottaly cool with it and its better if your parent hunts....Then you need to take a hunter saftey course and pass a test (dont worry it is really easy)

Then you get a little card saying you are aloud to buy your huntin license then you show them that card and you got your licence...but you need a gun to so like I said It's better if you have a parent that hunts.
look up where your nearest hunters Education classes are held and when they start. then you will get all the info you need.
More girls need to hunt. Nothing else to add.
do wat u want nd dont let any1 tell u its wrong!!! gud luck
