i live in maine and would like to start up i nice ranch where i can guide people in the outdoor sports but i am having some trouble getting it startedWhat is the best way to get a hunting ranch started?
The first thing you need to do is have some acreage. You should have at least 400 acres if you want to do some management. You will need to begin with an assesment of the existing game on the ranch. If you have a close buck to doe ratio you can begin a supplemental feeding program. If it is off, you need to begin culling off some does and getting that ratio in line. The first thing is to get the land. See some real estate people in your area for available land in the area you want to buy. you need hundreds of acres to do something like that and Don't think new England has that kind of acreage available
Good question....I wouldn't mind doing that myself. You'll need money of course for lots of land.
