If i get my male american bulldog fixed would it make him less of a hunting dog?

he is in training and a great tracking dog,but when he goes to take down the deer would it make him not do as well if i get him fixed

I'd think it would make him a better dog for hunting since he wouldn't be marking the area as much giving warning to the animals he's tracking. I doubt seriously you could get an American Bulldog to *take down* a deer- fixed or not though. He may track one but his nose, muzzle and ears aren't really the best for hunting use.Nor are American Bulldogs known for their speed or running stamina for long distance.

They have shown well in pulling though. If i get my male american bulldog fixed would it make him less of a hunting dog?
I am very familiar with the American Bulldog. Yes,they are strong and may be able to take down a deer after some other dog has run it for a few miles. An American Bulldog couldn't run fast and long enough to wear a deer down.

It won't make him any less of a dog in anyway.. The only reason a dog gets lazy is because it's bored.. It's up to the owner to do things with the dog.

He'll still be a great hunting dog, if he loves doing it, the surgery won't make him suddenly forget his training or make him love it any less.

Although he will most likely be a bit calmer after being fixed, I'm almost certain it won't stifle his hunting performance. When people say their dogs have gotten lazy after being fixed, it isn't neccessarily true, and never the same for every dog. Chances are he'll be just as good a tracker if not better.
No, it won't make him less of a hunting or tracking dog, it will make him a better one. He will not have the urge to get ';off base'; if he were to smell a b**ch in heat while you were working with him. It will, however, stop him from overpopulating the world with more unwanted puppies.
Most hunting dogs I have know have been fixed. They don't seem to have a problem.
I heard once a dog gets spayed or neutered they are lazy but im sure he will be fine after
