probaly be gone about 2-4 hoursIm going on a hunting trip tomorrow with a bow and arrow, any ideas of what i should bring?
How 'bout a copy of the current hunting regulations that probably tell you that MOST, if not all, hunting seasons are already closed by now and nothing more will be open until late into summer or early fall. I don't know what state you are hunting in, but at this time of the year, the majority of them have nothing to legally hunt with the possible exception of coyotes. Check to be sure before you go. Otherwise, the hunt you may just find yourself on will be for someone to loan you enough money to pay your bail or fine. When in doubt, check 'em out. (The rules, that is.)Im going on a hunting trip tomorrow with a bow and arrow, any ideas of what i should bring?

give it about a monthAnyone know about shed hunting in toledo ohio?
Generally, the farther North the later. I live in Youngstown and It's usually just starting around now. I think we usually go out the last week in Feb.
You answered your own question. At least three still have their antlers. they should drop 4-6 weeks.

Is this a good hunting style?
I can't afford ammo so i hide in a tree and when the deer walks by i jump on it and slit it throat with my knife. I am pretty much Rambo when it comes to hunting. Any advice? Is this a good hunting style?
I think this would work if you had a big enough knife to reach all the way around the neck at a 15 degree angle so it cuts just precisely at 2.74 in. through the trachea and kills the deer. Yah. by this calculation you should do real good.Is this a good hunting style?
No this is not a good hunting style. First I do not think that you could kill a deer like that because by the time you jumped out, they would be out of there. Deer are way too smart, and I think you have to be god to do something like that. Also, you could just buy a bow. If you get arrows, then it will last you at least a couple shots instead of just one shot. Or instead you could buy ammo and reload them which is a lot cheaper.
Um, No. Deer can run much faster than you, have highly ears. And can kill you easily at close range. And if you don't have the money for ammo sell you gun and buy a bow, or make one yourself.
im feelin what this freddy guy said just grab the antlers and snap the neck very effective works great on bears too although with a bear i prefer to jump on its back then blow its face to pieces with a shotgun... he aint runnin very long
I think you're gonna be hungry a lot.
Save yourself some time and get a Winchester Model 94 30.30, and fire up the grill for some venison back straps!
If your home state has a primitive-weapons hunting season, sure. You'd likely need at least a 10-inch blade, though.
Yeah, video tape it and sell the tape, you could get rich, because that'd be great to see
OOOO-K
why use a knife just break his neck with your hands like a real man
good luck.
sure // lay off the mushrooms for 3--4 days,,?

Do you believe fishing is better, worse, or equal to hunting?
I myself don't look at fish on the same level as I do a deer for instance or a bear. I would rather catch and kill a bass than an elk. Does anyone else see it like this?Do you believe fishing is better, worse, or equal to hunting?
This is a good question.
I would never, ever hunt, however I do fish.
Sometimes I ask myself the question of whether fishing is ethical, although I do only keep what I am going to eat and throw the rest back.
In saying this, I would never partake in game fishing - ie, deliberately go out looking to catch big game fish, sharks, etc, as I don't believe this is right.
I like to fish, I like to eat fish - but yes, sometimes I feel guilty and have even cried for the fish and aplogised to it as I have taken it off the hook! (Yes, needless to say my fiance is disgusted with me)!Do you believe fishing is better, worse, or equal to hunting?
Lady Rebecca, your fiancee should understand your feelings and be supportive of your feelings, not disgusted. But tell me, why do you keep fishing if you feel like that?
killing a fish does seem to come easier (and sound better) but deer or any other hunting doesnt bother me, i fish, and hunt deer, doves, quail, and ducks and yes, we eat it
id say pretty much equal (fishing possibly with an upper hand due to quantity)
but if you are catch-and-release, fishing is obviously better
well, the act of fishing doesn't acutually kill the fish...it just catches them...you can always throw it back...hunting is the actual act of killing the animal...so yea, i guess technically its not as bad.
Nothing is worse that hunting '; for sport ';.
I think that fishing is better than hunting because fishing is more relaxing and fishing you can always put the fish back in the water rather then killing it
equal
I love to do booth but fishing is more relaxing and you don't have to go out and freeze to fish, unless you like Ice fishing, they booth have their ups and downs and fish are easier to take out of the water than to dragg a bear or elk.
its a part of personal preference really. im an avid deer hunter, but son tends to be more on the fishing side. i respect his intrest in fishing as i do my own deer hunting.
as for hunting/fishing being mean, well thats another thing about personal preference. some people cant handle the natural way of feeding themselves and go to mcdonalds where someone else kills their meat for them, others understand the natural way that god intended for us and take game themselves.
way i see it, that cow that is forced into a stall at a slaughter house and watches a man shove a steel speer shot from a air pressure ram through his skull. has far less chance than the 10 point who decided for himself to walk into bow range. and whether or not you witnessed the cows death. it was the furthest thing from his mind at point of impact, and probably didnt make it feel any better.
not trying to change anyones mind, but i will defend my right to hunt, and besides.... a stick of summer sausage made from venison, chedder cheese and jalopenos is pretty dang good, lol.
uncle ted said it best.....hell yea there are endangered species out there...a nice 10 point buck 20 yards in front of me is pretty damned ';endanger';.
Fishing is a more relaxing activity. Especially lately with the lack or rain, and therefore lack of fish. You can always release a fish instead of having to haul it home after you get it.
I think in a way that way, they just stink so bad.
I have pet fish, so I tend to look at fish as animals just the same. But I think fishing is better since a lot of people do catch and release, in hunting...release is a little hard to do once it's shot.
It's all part of the food chain. I wouldnt do it for sport. But if I was somewhere stranded and was starving, I'd fish.
Equal. But as long as you eat what you kill, natural.
(Unless you are against eating meat, which I'm not)

I need a goose hunting tip ASAP?
I keep shooting at geese at about 25 to 50 yards with my model 870 12 ga Rem Wingmaster. And i keep missing, anyway i should lead them more and were i should lead them.I need a goose hunting tip ASAP?
Your choke has nothing to do with missing these geese. They are within 50 yards, so you could even use an improved cylinder and make those shots. You do not need a full choke. In fact, that will constrict your pattern.
You need to calm down first. I would guess you are getting excited and rushing the shot. We have all done it.
Next, wait until you are ready to shoot before raising the gun. This will keep you from leading the bird too soon. Too much time to think leads to mistakes. Once you shoulder your shotgun, make sure you are bringing it in tight and up to your cheek. Begin swinging from behind the goose, swing through until you see the beak, pull the trigger, and follow through. The follow through is very important. You may shoot behind the first bird. If this is the case, then increase your lead one bird length until you figure out the proper lead. Eventually the lead will become second nature. Geese fly much faster than they appear sometimes so you may have to increase lead accordingly.I need a goose hunting tip ASAP?
I would advise generally, that a full choke and one full goose-length lead should suffice up to 30/40 yards. That's what I do at least. It just takes time and experience to get a 'feel' for it. I have goose hunted for 20 years and have missed about 1/4 of all geese I have shot at...hence three shots available!! -And make sure you 'swing-thru' with your shot! -Geese are not as slow as it seems.
You need full choke and a good long barrel plus Bismuth or a good lead sub. Geese usually do not fly that fast......so practice with skeet.
It varies with range, speed, wind etc.......You will need to practice.
Don't fret to much ....I see plenty of older guys who can't hit that well.
You need to be using 3'; or 3.5'; mags. Geese are tough.
Aim right in front of the head and KEEP SWINGING after you pull the trigger. If you're used to lead shot it'll take a while to find the new grove. Maybe use a tighter choke or use a 3 1/2' shell vs a 2 3/4';.
Experience, experience, experience. To shoot some clay pigeons at different yardages. Thats the best way to get better at birdin. Try some different chokes at the range too. Find what works best for you.
right in front of the head are you using a full choke, they really help, so good luckmakeup hair

Do you think one can make a living off treasure hunting as an amateur?
I have recently purchased a metal detector and found 19th century coins in NJ and i am planning to go to europe to search for lost ancient artifacts? I have a degree in biology....do you think I can make a living off of this? i'm very seriousDo you think one can make a living off treasure hunting as an amateur?
Of course you can, but don't expect it to be easy. If you go to Belgium, you can find scads of WWI relics in the dirt, maybe some real, unexploded artillery shells.Do you think one can make a living off treasure hunting as an amateur?
No, unless you know something I don't. But there has been thousands of people going over the ground with metal detectors for a long time, there ain't much left to find
